Principal JOB SUMMARY In order to help students improve their academic progress, the Science Teacher at ASA must utilize the 2016 Science Framework for the state of California to help students access content, develop an understanding of scientific skills and vocabulary, and address misconceptions.
A teacher at ASA must provide learning opportunities for students through differentiated instruction, authentic assessment, multiple learning opportunities, and engaging activities.
The science teacher also acts as Chair for the Science Department of the entire school and helps with the development and integration of the STEM program at Armenian Sisters' Academy.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ? collaborates with all teachers to provide an engaging science curriculum to students ? create engaging lesson plans ? provides timely and frequent feedback ? maintains confidentiality with grades ? maintain an engaging and positive learning environment ? communicate with students, parents, and administration ? maintains the safety in the science lab ? keeps accurate records of items within the science lab ? designs/utilizes labs frequently which generate inquiry-based learning ? leads an Elective Class for grades 6th-8th ? assists the school with other responsibilities related to the safety of students and education ? participates in professional development MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree 2 years teaching experience Virtus Certification (may be completed upon hiring) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED ? Knowledge of:
